STRUGGLE

This is a mixed media piece, titled "Struggle", that I did using my old paint brushes and dried out tubes of paint.  I just could not part with these "old friends", that I lovingly stored away in a box and carted around with me for many years.  This piece is about my personal struggle on many levels, and I guess I'll leave it at that.

I just clicked on the pic to enlarge it, and it's brilliant!!! No wonder you've kept it. Funnily enough, it reminds me of the Jackson Pollock book I'm reading at the moment - lots of talk about splattered paint and paintbrushes!

Thanks Elaine for your comments. This piece is a few years old...but I can see how you would see a bit of mosaic in it...yes, I love the freedom that painting allows!

This piece has wonderful movement and texture, and the color, or lack of it, holds it all together. It is a pleasure to look at, too, even though it is about contention.
