COVER UP

 Mixed Media 12" x 12"
Wow, this piece has been a journey of several weeks.  A week or so ago I posted the same piece as a wip, but then removed it because it was not near finished, but I hadn't posted any work in such a long time, I just wanted to post something...I had lost my footing for awhile, but I was determined to finish this piece, no matter how long it took me. It has many layers, (as I just kept covering up what I didn't like) including acrylic, collage, thinset,  cardboard, and house paint.  So, after struggling with it  on and off for about 6 weeks, I am finally happy with it....whew!    This is the final of four pieces in my excavation series.  I had four 12" x 12" canvases that I wanted to use...so now I can work on something a bit larger-  yippee skippy :o)

I so like that done and complete feeling...no matter how long it takes...done is done! congratulations!

I like it a lot with its intricate balance, and it speaks to me of water and reflection, trees and weeds, and, incongrously, chocolate.

you have many layers of lines which depict energy and feeling.

Great to zoom in for a close up. I like the pale shades of blue showing through. Now, on to the next project :-)

Sometimes getting to that finished feeling is just had work - whoever said art was inspiration - execution can be hard. Go well. B

Mary Ann...Thanks for the congrats! Yes, complete is a great feeling!
Mise...You picked up on it, the chocolate looking paint is actually house paint from a sample...I really liked the way it "dripped"!
Donna...thanks for your interpretation...I never thought of it that way.
Robyn...Thanks for your comments, yes, on to the next!
Barry...Yes I can definitely relate....when I work it does often seem hard, and a struggle.
Willy...Thanks for your interpretation, you are the second that mentioned the energy (and the chocolate)!

Seems I missed a few.

They all look great and it's nice to see the difference in design and color.

Cheers!

I just see chocolate, this would be a dangerous piece for me to look at daily. Very cool!

Thanks raspsgirl! You are right, even in person it looks like melted chocolate!
